For those who update their Marvel vs Capcom 3 games today, first thing you might notice is Sentinel seems to take a lot more damage then usual. When testing it out, we noticed a combo of around 850-900k will kill Sentinel who was on 1.3mil before the patch.
Let us know what other changes you guys might find while playing. In the meantime, we’ll keep a look out for the official changes if Capcom decide to post them up.
So, what do you guys think?.. Personally, I like it, especially since I don’t use Sentinel, though I think toning down his XF power boost would have been a better move.

I feel I would be saying the same thing if I were using Sentinel. I know Kode is right now. =P

He deserved that nerf.
Now… to fix the other 9,000 broken things in that game

Hopefully this inspires people to switch their teams up a bit so it’s no longer Wolverine, Random and Sentinel otherwise you just have no chance…

Not like you “have no chance”. But this does make it a lot more easier. Got to remember though, he still has his damage (I think). Got to test it out. =P

It seems a touch drastic but I’m glad to an extent. Like at least this suddenly makes him a more risky assist to use since despite the fact his assist is so absurdly good, a Hyper XFC Hyper beam super catching him wouldn’t even come close to killing him.
I would say 900 or whatever he’s roughly at feels a bit low though. He has such an awful hitbox once you do manage to get in that you’d think he’d deserve to be at least at 1000.

1mil would have been a decent amount. But either way, 900k just means Sent users will have to be a little more cautious when using him and not just jumping around hoping for a lucky hit confirm.
A lot of people are pointing out there is not too many Sent’s in high level play, but it does not mean he is not a major threat. Floe was one of the first to really ‘use’ Sent, and that thing was scary.

You can now call Sentinel… Softinel.
March 23rd, 2011
You can drawn parallels with Sent to someone like SSF4 Guile or Balrog or Bison in that regard. Like they’re powerful characters and have a lot of disgusting tools, but on the same token they also have a lot of holes and bad matchups which means they rarely won any major high level tournaments.
But yeah, he still has the Vanilla Sagat Factor of one hit + XFactor combo equalling death to one character, and an ugly guessing game on the next character in of blocking/avoiding command throw. He’s just going to die/get chipped out slightly easier.
